Squad goals

We believe sport, fitness, and well-being matter. We believe they improve people’s lives, and make the world a better place – that’s the inspiration behind all that we do.

We work across all sports and anything that will make people healthier and happier. We’ve been lucky enough to work with pinch-yourself clients like the England football, cricket and rugby teams, the Women’s Euros, Spurs, Everton, Chelsea Women and many more. From sailing to triathlon to volleyball and beyond, we love what we get to work on.

We take pride in our diversity and inclusivity, our company culture and our sustainability progress. We seek to make the world a better place in our work and in all that we do.

MATTA Culture

At MATTA you can expect a fast-paced, but friendly atmosphere, where everyone is passionate about sport, fitness or well-being. We have a flexible remote working policy, yet our office is always busy because we enjoy spending time together.

MATTA team celebrate Pride

Making Work Better

A core aspect of our culture is helping others. Every year we hold the Tour de MATTA – a whole-agency event that raises money for charity. Last year we raised money for Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign by playing 24 sports in 24 hours. The previous year we all took part in a 24-hour triathlon in support of Movember. We also deliver pro bono campaign and branding work for sport charities every year.

Our diversity makes us richer, and allows us to learn from each other. We hold monthly Lunch and Learn sessions which have covered topics such as BLM, Pride, the menopause, gender identity and Chinese New Year. We offer work experience and apprenticeships with an ambition to help people from excluded groups find ways into the industry. At our last analysis, our Kantar Inclusion Index score was 81%, compared to a UK average of 56%, and a recent advertising industry census showed that we are more diverse than the industry standard in all the protected characteristics. Team members can join our Women at MATTA group, our DEI Squad, our Queer Alliance, or our Culture Club, all of whom ensure that we stay true to the diverse needs and perspectives within the agency.

What we get back

For those of us who love to play sport, we play 5-a-side football, netball and a table tennis league – plus you’ll often find us running, either socially or training for the Hackney Half Marathon. Meanwhile we’ll often get together after work or at weekends to attend matches as a group.

We believe in sharing agency success with the team. When we hit our targets everyone receives perks, ranging from vouchers to team trips. Together we’ve been to Norfolk, Ibiza and even Iceland. And each year pay is evaluated against agency success.

Our values

We take pride

in all we do - doing what we say we will, when we say we will do it, to the highest possible standard

We work together

fostering great teamwork and a shared sense of achievement, celebrating individuality and diversity, and treating others as we would want to be treated

We are brave

never settling for good enough, we are innovative and always push for more

We have drive

because we know you get out what you put in, and want to be your best

We stay true

because we have a deep well of personal and professional integrity and instinctively know the right thing to do

We want everyone on our team at MATTA – people from every background, every identity, every walk of life. It’s because it helps us do better work. Because the people who have been excluded deserve their time. Because we want to represent all the fans of all stripes from all corners of the country (and the world). And also, because it’s right.

We strive to foster an inclusive culture where everyone’s comfortable to be their whole self and do their best work. We encourage, support and celebrate diverse voices. We value individuality and difference. And we welcome each person’s unique perspective and lived experience.

Sport, fitness and well-being are part of a universal language, one which becomes richer as more people from different worlds are involved. We know that we’re on a journey of learning and discovery when it comes to inclusion – and we recognise that our industry is under-representative when it comes to diversity. We will continue to educate ourselves, learn from mistakes, and work for the movement towards a bright future for everyone.

Professional Growth

We have a fantastic track record in both retaining and developing our team members and in building successful careers at MATTA – our retention rate for staff in 2023 was 95%. We encourage staff to make the most of our training and professional development programme that has built the team’s skills in presenting, strategic thinking, and building powerful client-agency relationships. And the rhythm of our year allows opportunities for everyone to play their part in agency culture and grow beyond their job function – whether by taking the floor in front of the agency at Team Talks or organising team-building activities.
