MATTA Hosts Event to Empower Young Women at the Women’s FA Cup Final

This weekend at the Women’s FA Cup Final, creative sports marketing agency MATTA invited participants from female youth leadership development programmes to experience the match in hospitality, and network with people in the sports industry.

The host of the event was MATTA’s Teni Charles, who is also a winger for Ebbsfleet United F.C. and St Vincent & The Grenadines. Teni has volunteered as a mentor on youth leadership programmes, including with England Football, and her sports background and agency experience made her an ideal person to help these young women understand the opportunities in the advertising industry.

Participants included members of FA & BUCS Women’s Leadership Programme, and the AoC Sport apprenticeship scheme.

A lot of young people don’t have the opportunity to work in our industry unless they’ve played at an elite level. We always try to bring people from different backgrounds – and especially underrepresented groups – into empowering spaces, and give them a stepping stone into our industry. I hope that if they see me in the room, they’ll feel like they also belong here.
