MATTA created visuals to support Gilbert Campaign for the 2023 Rugby World Cup Gilbert, the globally recognised name in rugby, has played a key part in the sport’s most dramatic, iconic moments for decades – supplying the Rugby World Cup since 1995. Gilbert rugby balls, jerseys and equipment have been used by both professional and amateur players, becoming synonymous with the game itself. As an official supplier of the Rugby World Cup, Gilbert sought MATTA’s expertise to engage with the fans and followers.

“Gilbert Is Rugby” launched by the brand in 2021, showcases Gilbert’s place in the world of rugby. With a heritage dating back to 1823, Gilbert has played an integral role in the development and evolution of the sport. The campaign celebrates Gilbert’s enduring legacy and presence in some of the sport’s most iconic, dramatic moments, including Jason Robinson’s try and Jonny Wilkinson’s drop goal in the 2003 Rugby World Cup Final versus Australia, and Dan Carter’s winning performance for the All Blacks in the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final also against Australia.

For this Rugby World Cup, MATTA created powerful key visuals to support the campaign, using images that capture iconic moments from the sport’s most prestigious tournament, showcasing the role Gilbert has played throughout these. The campaign is brought to life with the tagline, “I am Gilbert, I am Rugby,” serving as a unifying theme that encapsulates the essence and persona of the brand.
