Today, Premier 15s announces its rebrand as Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR), marking a significant milestone in the evolution and growth of the sport.
Premier 15s, originally launched in 2017 by the RFU, has undergone a transformative journey to become an independent organisation ahead of the 2023/24 season. Belinda Moore has been appointed as the CEO, leading the charge to position PWR as the most competitive, progressive, and sustainable domestic competition in the world.
Recognizing the significance of this brand evolution, MATTA collaborated closely with Belinda Moore and the Premier 15s team to deliver a comprehensive rebranding strategy. MATTA created the new name “Premiership Women’s Rugby” along with the acronym PWR. The rebrand encompasses a full brand world, including a distinctive new logo with vibrant colour palettes which will come to life across both Premiership Women’s Rugby and club channels.
The Premier 15s rebrand further solidifies MATTA’s position as the industry leader in women’s rugby. From grassroots participation campaigns to elite-level collaborations with England Rugby, a first of its kind partnership between women’s rugby and Clinique in #GameFace & global campaign “Try & Stop Us” for World Rugby, MATTA has played a pivotal role in driving the growth and activation of women’s rugby in England and across the world. As the sport gears up for the Rugby World Cup in 2025, hosted by England Rugby, the Premier 15s rebrand will serve as a catalyst for further expansion and success.
We are extremely excited to have worked on this rebranding project. Our team is passionate both about empowering women’s rugby and creating dynamic brands that captivate audiences. The evolution to Premiership Women’s Rugby reflects the league’s commitment to excellence, progressiveness, and sustainability. We are confident that this rebrand will pave the way for a great future for women’s rugby in England.
